Chris was born and raised in the heart of the Mississippi Delta in the town of Moorhead, MS. He grew up listening, learning, living and singing the blues. He idolized such artists as B.B. King, Bobby Rush, and Marvin Sease, wishing he could one day become a blues singer himself. Born Chris Ivy, he was determined to show that through his own individuality, as well as creativity, he was just as good as the greatest.
As fate would have it, Chris met with songwriter and producer Trevell Williams and organized H.B. Programs in June 2008. Since that time, Chris has performed with such artists as Nathaniel Kimble, Mississippi Slim, Jessie Clay, Sweet Angel, Lebrado, Walter Waiters, Omar Cunningham, Denise LaSalle, OB Buchanon, Mr. Sam, J Blackfoot, Ms. Jody, Donnie Ray, Andre Lee, David Brinston, LaMorris Williams, Adrena, Willie Clayton, Tre Williams, Calvin Richardson and has opened for TK Soul. Chris has also headlined several shows of his own throughout the Mississippi and Louisiana areas.
Chris has completed his first album entitled “Just Doing Me”, of which his songs Turn Me On, Slow Dance, Turn Road, My Draws and The Mailman have been repeatedly played on several radio stations throughout the Mississippi Delta. Being seen and heard throughout the Delta has led Chris to a starring role as a powerful performer on “The Young Guns of Southern Soul Tour”. This tour is a very romantic and heart pounding tour that features Columbus Toy, L J Echols and Chris, and is being booked throughout the South. Chris is also a part of the “All Blues Saturday Road Show” being hosted by Ms. Beverly McDowell and Ms. Nikki DeMarks with bookings throughout Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. When you hear his music you will see why we can say that Mr. Chris Ivy is a must have for all southern soul and blues lovers.
